The occupational therapist helps patients to adapt to their disabilities

  • You are equivalent to a skills coach (backfield coach, quarterback coach, line coach)
  • You train patients to perform the activities of daily living (ADLs)
    • Dressing
    • Eating
    • Bathing
  • May require special equipment or adaptive devices such as hand splints (above picture)
  • Develop a treatment plan with milestones
  • Communicate your assessment and plans to the Case Manager and also with the team through periodic huddles.
